Today we got up and out early and went to the Burrito Depot. The sign out front says "Home of the World Famous Burrito". I believe that sign because when we got there there was numerous cars and a couple of 18 wheelers and more trucks coming off I-20. We had a choice of 13 breakfast burritos and just about as many for lunch.

We are heading out today to take our dog Cotton for his first grooming this afternoon. I will post pictures later.

Saturday, November 15, 2008

A couple of days ago our friends Ted and Donna came into the park. They have been doing some geocashing. Last night we got to play cards with them. The way friends you meet along the way then show up later where we are is one of the benefits of this lifestyle.

Well we finally did it. Meet Cotton the newest addition to our home. A 23 month old Bichor Frishe male. We got him at the humane society in Odessa Texas.

We took a ride to Odessa today. We needed to do some shopping and we hoped to get a dog at the Humane Society. We have completed our first week work camping here at TraPark in Pecos.

Saturday, November 1, 2008

Yesterday we drove 105 miles up to The Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are really beautiful and interesting. Anyone who has a chance should go see them.

You do not want to make the trip from Pecos Texas like we did with less than a full tank of gas. There is nothing but desert the whole trip. There are a few towns but no services.

After we finished viewing the caverns we drove another 20 miles north to the town of Carlsbad New Mexico. Had a good meal at a Chinese Buffet next to Wal*Mart then drove back to Tra Park.

Monday, October 27, 2008

Well we are at our winter home. We arrived at Tra Park in Pecos Texas around noon today. We will stay here at least until the first of the year. We are here with our friends Jan and Art.

I will not be posting as often now that we are staying put for a while.

We left Haskell, TX and drove to Big Spring, TX. We are in Texas RV Park of Big Spring. The host asked if we would like to work camp here. On our way here we saw regular gas for $2.14 a gallon and diesel for $3.25 at the same station. This is an expensive park, $33.00 per night.

Thursday, October 23, 2008

We had a rainy and very windy day yesterday so we delayed our departure south until today. We have gotten to Haskell Texas at the city park. The first night here is free and then it is $12.00 a night for full hookup, 30 amp sites. All sites are pull-thru.

Friday, October 17, 2008

Saturday, September 27, 2008

We had a long day today because of a fifty mile detour. We are in Dodgeville WI at Toms Campground. This is one of the most beautiful views from a campground. We are on top of a hill with great views all around us. We are staying here three nights so that we can do some sightseeing.

Friday, September 26, 2008

We took Route 2 west then Rt 41 south to Oconto Wisconsin. We are staying at a city owned park called Holtwood Campground. We are only staying here one night and will be moving west in the morning.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

We went for a ride today and saw the Crisp Point Lighthouse. To get to the lighthouse you have to go for a long ride on a dirt and rough rode. Then we went to the Tahguamenon Falls State Park. We visited both the upper and lower falls. The upper falls is the second largest falls east of the Mississippi River. We had lunch while at the park and for the first time had a pastie. A pastie is like an apple turnover stuffed with meat, potatoes and vegetables then served with gravy on the side. Very good.

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

We are up in the UP of Michigan for the first time ever. We picked a good time for coming here as the trees are starting to turn. We are in Newberry MI at the Northcountry Campground. It is a neat park because it is built in a circle.

We went through a town or place called parallel that is half way between the equator and the north pole.

We are in Rosommon MI at Higgins Lake Family Campground. It is a nice place but expensive, 27.00 a night. We had planned on staying at the Ogemaw Fairgrounds in West Branch MI but it was closed.

Start

We are at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Celina Ohio. The first Eastern Gypsy Gathering Rally ended last night. We enjoyed the rally very much and learned a lot. We also met some of the many new friends that we have made since we start full timing in 2002.
